Aussie blues legend Lloyd Spiegel to perform in Dubbo

1 min read

Melbourne Blues artist Lloyd Spiegel is excited to announce his first ever music store gig, coming to The Old Bank Music Shop in Dubbo on November 11. Aged 44, this Australian blues icon has already been touring the globe for 33 years. His art has been greatly influenced by the people he grew up around on international stages, learning from and touring with the founding fathers of modern blues.

“Due to [my] overseas commitments, Australian tours have been shortened the last ten years to mostly just include major cities. Post-pandemic, I really felt the urge to reconnect with Australia and visit places I hadn’t been for a very long time,” commented Lloyd.

The 14-time Australian Blues Award winner is also the face and the premier artist for Cole Clark guitars, a major Australian guitar company with dealers and distributors in over 33 countries, which are offered at the Old Bank Music Shop.

“Honestly, I’m 33 years on the road, I’ve never played a concert in a musical instrument store before. Anything new after this long on tour is good.”

His show will feature the incredibly talented Lisa Baird on trombone and Tim Burnham on drums. Alongside Spiegel’s masterful artistry on guitar, this trio delivers a captivating and soulful sound that dispels the cliches of the blues and reimagines the genre in a new and truly unique listening experience.

Spiegel’s latest album Bakehouse Dozen debuted at #1 on the Australian Blues playlist chart, #4 on the ARIA jazz and blues chart, and #6 on the Australian iTunes chart for all genres.
