Pelicans breed at Narran Lakes for only the second time in a decade

Recent water flows, including environmental water provisions, have resulted in waterbirds breeding at the Ramsar-protected Narran Lakes in north-western NSW for only the second time in a decade.

This season, two Australian Pelican colonies were observed, marking the first time the species has bred at the site since the 1990s.
