A wonderful crowd of 130 people descended onto the hallowed synthetic turf of the Paramount Tennis Club on Saturday 14 October to celebrate its Centenary.
With perfect weather and a fantastic outdoor setup, legends from yesteryear joined current and possibly future legends of the club for a special event for a truly special club.
An afternoon of many highlights including:
- 100 year history of the club, presented by club life members Mark Campbell and Derek Roberts
- Coaches panel featuring current coaching director, Brad Williams (2023-ongoing), club coach Lyndall Murray (2001-ongoing), Paul Fitzgerald (1998-2014) and Will Dargan (1991-1998)
- Aussie tennis legend John Alexander OAM took to the stage and kept the crowd thoroughly entertained as he shared stories of the Golden Age of Australian Tennis, of which he was a part with names like Rod Laver, Ken Rosewall, Lew Hoad and many others spoken fondly of.
- 100 years of memorabilia on display in the clubhouse
The event was a great success and thoroughly enjoyed by all who attended.
The Paramount Tennis Club committee thanks all who assisted in the successful running of the event.
